Terms of Service

Please read these terms carefully before using BaseCase services.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing and using the BaseCase website and services, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and all applicable laws and regulations. If you do not agree with any of these terms, you are prohibited from using our services. These terms apply to all visitors, users, candidates, employers, and education providers who access or use our platform.

2. Our Services

BaseCase provides career readiness programs, internship facilitation, employer connections, and related career development services for graduates of all disciplines in Australia. Our services include: structured career readiness programs (typically 8–12 weeks); supervised internship placements at host companies; job placement and recruitment services; interview preparation, resume workshops, and mentorship; employer staffing solutions including temporary, permanent, and international recruitment; and a dedicated IT Track for those heading into technology careers.

3. Eligibility

To use our services, you must be at least 18 years of age and have valid Australian work rights (e.g., Australian citizen, permanent resident, or holder of a visa that permits work or vocational training in Australia). You must provide accurate, complete, and current information when registering or applying for any program. We reserve the right to verify your eligibility and decline services if requirements are not met.

4. Program Terms

Our career readiness programs typically run for 8–12 weeks and require regular attendance and participation. Internship placements are supervised, 12-week programs at host companies. While we make best efforts to place every participant, internship and job placement is not guaranteed and depends on factors including candidate suitability, employer availability, and market conditions. Candidates are expected to attend scheduled sessions, complete assigned tasks, and maintain professional conduct throughout the program.

5. Fees & Payment

Some programs and services have associated fees, which will be clearly communicated before you commit. Where applicable, fees may be success-based (e.g., job placement fees are only payable when you secure employment). All fees are quoted in Australian Dollars (AUD) and are inclusive of GST where applicable. Payment terms will be outlined in your individual service agreement. Refund policies vary by program and will be specified at the time of enrolment.

6. Intellectual Property

All content on the BaseCase website and within our programs - including text, graphics, logos, images, course materials, training resources, and software - is the property of BaseCase or its content suppliers and is protected by Australian and international intellectual property laws. You may not reproduce, distribute, modify, or create derivative works from any content without our express written permission. Materials provided during programs are for your personal use only.

7. User Conduct

You agree not to: provide false or misleading information in your profile or applications; use our services for any unlawful purpose; harass, abuse, or harm other users, staff, or partner organisations; attempt to gain unauthorised access to our systems; or interfere with the proper functioning of our platform. We reserve the right to remove users who violate these guidelines and to terminate program participation for serious breaches of conduct.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by Australian law, BaseCase shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or related to your use of our services. This includes, without limitation, loss of income, employment opportunities, or career outcomes. Our total liability for any claim shall not exceed the amount paid by you for the specific service giving rise to the claim. This does not exclude liability that cannot be excluded under Australian Consumer Law.

9. Disclaimer of Warranties

Our services are provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. While we strive to provide accurate information and quality placements, we do not warrant that our services will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any specific employment or placement outcome will be achieved. Career outcomes depend on many factors beyond our control, including market conditions, employer decisions, and individual effort.

10. Governing Law

These Terms of Service are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of New South Wales, Australia. Any disputes arising from these terms or your use of our services shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of New South Wales. Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts, or modifies rights under the Australian Consumer Law.

11. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these terms at any time. Changes will be effective immediately upon posting to our website. Your continued use of our services after any changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms. We encourage you to review these terms periodically.
